It should be no surprise that Robert Evans is this year's Diesel Power Challenge winner. What is a surprise, is that you're looking at the first time a truck has won our event without nitrous. That's right folks, if you're not a fan of the bottle, then Robert is your hero.

Robert took First on the dragstrip, First on the dyno, and made a strong 299-foot sled pull-all without the use of nitrous oxide. Although Robert has a two-stage nitrous system on his truck, he elected to leave it off after he fried his transmission on the dragstrip and instead relied solely on his big injectors and compound turbo setup from Industrial Injection to do the job. There's no doubt the Cummins made plenty of power, but the 6-inch lift on the truck, combined with funky traction bars, made us wonder how Robert would perform on the dragstrip or hooked to the sled. The fact that there was no bouncing during the sled pull and that Robert cut the best 60-foot time of the event at the dragstrip (1.70 seconds), told us he had done his homework.

Let us congratulate you on the win Robert, you brought an awesome truck, were a top-notch competitor, and we look forward to seeing you next year!
